About Me

Q & A with Suzy

Q: Who's your favorite architect?

A: Hmmm, I'm a pretty big fan of Friedrich Hunderwasser, Andrea Palladio, Some of Frank Lloyd Wright's details ( if not his actual buildings), Thomas Jefferson, and my career role model Oki Sato.

Q: Where do you go to architecture school?

A: Hampton University's Department of Architecture in Bemis Laboratories. We actually have a Facebook page here.

Q: What do you plan on doing with your degree?

A: Either practicing architecture in Africa, or staying in the States are specializing in historic preservation and renovation, so that I can move BACK to Africa and help them maintain some of their treasures.

Q: What is your favorite architectural style?

A: I have always said classical, but I have a real appreciation for the creativity and talent involved in Art Nouveau. I am also a sucker for Art Deco and Victorian, but that might just be because since I live in Virginia, I'm exposed to a lot of it.

Q: What do you do when you are not architecting?

A: I love graphic design, sewing, watching YouTube videos, sailing, reading (mostly about science and politics and dragons), and catching up on missed sleep.
